Rhonda Wilson

Name:  Rhonda Wilson

Age:   50

Occupation:  Retired Air Traffic Controller

Family:  husband Scott, daughter Isabel (age 13)

How long have you been coming to ISC?  21 months

What got you started?    Back in 2010, I was very sick with undiagnosed Celiac Disease. It took over a year to get a proper diagnosis. During that time, I was literally starving because everything I ate went straight through. I lost a tremendous amount of muscle and was very weak.  On the proper diet, I gained weight (too much), but not muscle. Fast forward to 2015: After being retired for 6-8 months, I found myself putting my daughter on the school bus and going back to bed. I was sleeping away my life!  There had to be a better way.  I knew that it was going to require more than walking on a treadmill to put me on the right path and a former co-worker suggested I try CrossFit.

Why do you like CrossFit?  Completely scalable and such a great community.  If I don't show up, someone notices!

What is your favorite WOD or movement?  Any kind of powerlifting.

What is your least favorite WOD or movement?  Duh, burpees.

What is your biggest CrossFit accomplishment?  Sometimes, it's a huge accomplishment just to show up!

What are your CF goals?  Stronger every day.

What is your favorite CF/ISC memory?  One day, Mindi said I looked "ripped". That was pretty great!

What motivates you to keep coming back to ISC?  My morning workout buddies. I adore them all.

What advice do you have for those considering CF? Any tips for those just starting?   There is no reason not to try it!  This has made a profound difference in my life.
